Narcissus is another step towards completing my collection of human spacecraft from the Alien films. This is the Nostromo’s escape shuttle, with its compact, wedge-shaped hull and rectangular engine openings.

A little background

Narcissus is the Nostromo’s shuttle and lifeboat in Alien. It becomes Ripley’s escape craft at the end of the film. Science Fiction Archives describes the filming miniature as work primarily by Martin Bower and Phil Rae, developed around the interior set and informed by Ron Cobb’s concept artwork.
