LUM-168 Camel

Maschinen Krieger (Ma.K.) · Hasegawa · 1:20 scale

Even the pilot of an advanced vehicle has socks to wash.

I built and painted this Hasegawa Camel, then added a little everyday life to the scene: a washing line, with socks and a few other essentials hanging out to dry.

A little background

Maschinen Krieger, usually shortened to Ma.K., is a science-fiction world created by Japanese artist and model maker Kow Yokoyama. It began in 1982 as SF3D in Hobby Japan magazine, with stories told through models, photographs and illustrations. If you’re wondering about SF3D, it means Science Fiction in 3 Days. Build a model in one weekend.

Its machines have rounded armour, exposed mechanical parts and the worn appearance of equipment that has seen service. The LUM-168 Camel is a lunar tactical reconnaissance vehicle. Mine has picked up a washing line along the way.
